Unscented: Soybean Fiber, Calcium Carbonate, Corn Starch, Pea Fiber, Activated Carbon.

Lavender: Soybean Fiber, Calcium Carbonate, Corn Starch, Pea Fiber, Dried Lavender.

OdorStop: Tofu Pellets (soybean fiber, pea fiber, corn starch, calcium carbonate, charcoal), Pea Pellets (pea fiber, corn starch, calcium carbonate, odor control additive), bentonite balls (sodium bentonite)

If this is your first time, start with a clean, empty litter box. Pour in 50% of Really Great Cat Litter and top with 50% of your previous litter to reach 1 to 2 inches in depth. For the following replacement, start with 75% of Really Great Cat Litter and top with 25% of your previous litter. We recommend doing this over 4 weeks.

Continue to increase the proportion of Really Great Cat Litter until you’ve fully phased out of your previous litter.

Instructions:

  • Pour 1 to 2 inches of Really Great Cat Litter in a clean, empty litter box. If transitioning, start with 50% of Really Great Cat Litter and top with 50% of your previous litter. For the following replacement, start with 75% of Really Great Cat Litter and top with 25% of your previous litter.
  • Continue to increase the proportion of Really Great Cat Litter until you’ve fully phased out of your previous litter. Scoop away! Remove clumps and poops daily, shaking your scooper over the litter box to remove loose pellets .Dispose of clumps and litter by flushing*, composting, or tossing in your trash bin. Flush only 1-2 small clumps at a time. Use your scoop to break up larger clumps as needed, with each one being no bigger than a billiard ball. Be sure to check with your municipality for flushing and composting regulations. We do not recommend flushing the OdorStop formula.
  • Top up to maintain the same depth after scooping.
  • Replace the entire contents of your litter box with a fresh bag once a month, or as desired. A cat’s sense of smell is 40x stronger than yours, so we suggest giving your litter box a quick wipe down before refilling.
  • Store sealed in a cool, clean, and dry space.

Our pure tofu litter formulas, Lavender and Unscented, are flushable so long as you fit the following guidelines.

  • Your local and state regulations allow flushing cat litter.
  • Your cat is an indoor cat.
  • Your cat is not fed a raw diet.

Where local rules allow, you can *flush small clumps (no bigger than a billiard ball) or compost used litter. For outdoor cats, raw-fed cats, or anywhere it's required, please bag waste and put it in the trash. If you rent or live in a condo, check with your landlord or building management too.

This litter may be used with well-maintained sewer and septic systems. Only flush one or two small scoops of litter at a time. Never put large amounts of litter in the toilet. Not for use with low-flow toilets.

OdorStop has been third-party tested and shown to pass through household plumbing with little to no residue. That said, because it contains bentonite—which doesn’t break down as readily as plant-based fibers—we don’t recommend flushing OdorStop.

California residents: According to California law, residents should not flush cat litter down toilets or dispose in drains. Please check with your local and state regulations before flushing.

One bag will generally last one month for one cat, with some households seeing up to 40 days’ use.

Keep in mind that other factors may influence the usage, such as how many cats you have, how many litter boxes you have, the size of your litter box, how deep you fill your litter box, and how often your cat(s) use the litter box.

We’re available online at www.tuftandpaw.com, Amazon and Chewy. You can also find us at select PetSmarts, Petcos, or your local pet supplies store.

Absolutely, although you may notice slight difference when doing so. For example, when mixing Lavender with another formula, the Lavender aroma may be less potent.

Composting your cat’s used litter is a great way to reduce landfill waste. However, not all cities accept compostable litter, as pathogens can remain present and contaminate water or soil.

Please check your local and state regulations carefully to see if animal litter is accepted in your compost bin.

Unfortunately, most automatic litter boxes were not designed to work with pellet litters.

Each bag is 9.25lbs. We currently only have one size of bag, but we do have multiple pack sizes (1, 3 and 5 packs). If you have multiple cats, or need larger amounts of litter, we recommend signing up for a subscription of multi-packs for more savings!

Curious pets sometimes nibble litter, but Really Great Cat Litter is not meant for animal or human consumption. Eating a large amount can cause a blockage. If you think your pet has eaten a large quantity or shows vomiting, lethargy, discomfort or other unusual behavior, stop use immediately and contact your vet.

To help your cat learn it is litter, not food, transition slowly. Gradually mix small amounts of Really Great Cat Litter with your usual litter over four weeks. Then empty the box fully and refill it with 1-2 inches of Really Great Cat Litter. If your cat keeps eating it at any point, stop use. For dogs, keep the litter box out of reach.

Many scented litters use synthetic fragrances or concentrated essential oils that can be too strong for cats' sensitive noses. Our lavender formula is different—we use only crushed dried lavender petals for a very gentle, natural aroma that prioritizes your cat's comfort and safety while still providing effective odor management.

In fact, lavender in appropriate forms is used by veterinary professionals for calming hospitalized cats and providing enrichment in shelter environments.

The Really Great Cat Litter is made in China.

Really Great Cat Food

Our team of experts in animal science and pet nutrition worked together to create this recipe.

Our in-house companion animal nutritionist is armed with an MSc in Animal Nutrition (specializing in companion animal nutrition) and a BSc in Animal Biology. Joining forces is our external formulator, boasting an MSc in Animal Nutrition.

Together, they fine-tuned our formula to ensure it meets the unique nutritional needs and metabolic quirks of cats. You can trust that your cat is in the hands of capable and caring professionals.

Each carton contains 5.5 ounces. We do not currently have other carton sizes. However, if you are looking for more savings, we suggest subscribing to multiple packs!

We choose locally sourced ingredients from within the US when possible. However, some ingredients have been imported from around the globe to ensure that, despite seasonal variation within North America, we are still able to use some of the best quality ingredients.

Sure does. Taurine is a must-have for cats, and while it naturally occurs in our protein-packed ingredients like chicken and rabbit, we also use an additional supplement to ensure they get optimal amounts for a healthy, long life.

Select ingredients in our recipe, such as pumpkin and carrot, are certified organic. When crafting this formula, we chose to prioritize clean, high-quality ingredients over organic certification to uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.

The caloric value per gram/can/cup of Really Great Cat Food is as shown below:

  • 882 kcal/kg
  • 0.88 kcal/g
  • 138 kcal/carton

Keep open, unused portions refrigerated, using them within 5 days of opening. Store unopened cartons in a cool, dry place.

Yes! Our food is suitable for cats of all life stages. Because kittens are growing and require more energy and nutrients like protein, fat, and calcium, we recommend feeding your kitten twice the amount recommended for adult cats.
